Crafty jewelry: Purple Flower Friendship Bracelet tutorial

Completed Project: Purple Flower Friendship Bracelet Picture #1
Purple Flower Friendship Bracelet

Instructions
  1. 1
    Step 1
Sort out your threads and make sure that your three green threads are on top. They shouldn't match up like in a normal arrow bracelet. (steps 2-5 might make this even more confusing, so skip reading them if it makes it easier. It's just to do the arrow bracelet)
  2. 2
    Step 2
Start making knots towards the center, like in a typical arrow bracelet (a pattern which can be found in any cheap bracelet book, or maybe even here on CO+K)
  3. 3
    Step 3
Make sure the colors on the other side do NOT match
  4. 4
    Step 4
continue until you reach the purple
  5. 5
    Step 5
Knot the two centers together, just like in the arrow bracelet
  6. 6
    Step 6
Make a 4 with the two purple threads, and knot it once. (start of a chain bracelet, but with two threads)
  7. 7
    Step 7
Do the same but in reverse on the other side
  8. 8
    Step 8
Continue until you have 10 knots in your chain, 5 of each shade of purple.
  9. 9
    Step 9
Tie it in to make a loop with your top green thread.
  10. 10
    Step 10
Make two knots with the green around both the purples
  11. 11
    Step 11
    It should end like this
  12. 12
    Step 12
Repeat and make another 10 knot chain
  13. 13
    Step 13
Tie it in with your next green thread
  14. 14
    Step 14
You should now have two loops
  15. 15
    Step 15
    Repeat with another chain
  16. 16
    Step 16
pull it through your first loop
  17. 17
    Step 17
It should look somewhat like this. It may be more difficult when you start out, but gets easier as your threads get shorter.
  18. 18
    Step 18
Tie it in with your last green thread, and repeat steps 6-18 on other side.
  19. 19
    Step 19
Start making the arrow pattern again with the green threads (don't let the colors match!)
    (..oops...need to add more thread...)
  20. 20
    Step 20
Continue until at your next purple flower, then repeat all steps until bracelet is at desired length.
  21. 21
    Step 21
    Notes:
    1) My bracelet did end up somewhat, er, springy. It can stretch slightly at each flower...
    2) You may want to sew in or use short threads to make the flowers more together and flower-like. I did experiment on a pair of earrings bu making all of the petals loop into eachother, but it ended WAY too long and complicated, taking an hour per blossom!
    3) I started with a LOT of thread, but it may be easier to start with
shorter, arm length thread, and just add on when you need to. Make the flower colors longer than the green leaf colors.
  22. 22
    Step 22
My almost finished bracelet! (now finished...and must take a picture of...)
